Fashion today is all about consumerism. Especially because social media influencers have gained so much visibility and the competition is utterly high, they should wear memorable items in order to stand out. And memorable usually means one-time use. But what do we do with those items after? How wise and, most importantly, how sustainable is it to forget about our clothes after having worn them once? Definitely, not at all! Which is why I am happy to announce the launch of a new column under the Fashion category here on Un bouquet d’amour: Wear with care. In this section, I will try to integrate same pieces in various outfits, so you can see more options for wearing the same item.
And I am starting with this super cute, yet memorable pink ruffled skirt, which I wore in two different outfits. They might look similar, given the recognizable bold color of the pink skirt, but to me, they are completely different aesthetics, inspired from completely different epoques.
- In the first outfit I wore the pink ruffled skirt with polka dot shoes and shirt, which, together with the pearl accessories and the sunglasses, create a 60s inspired look pegged into the reality of 2017. This is especially because the 60s fashion has carried a strong women emancipation message, and today we are witnessing a new wave of feminism, given by the Dior women empowerment campaigns of this year.
- The second outfit is all about today’s fashion: same pink ruffled skirt with a cool printed t-shirt, a short but edgy heel with an abrupt shape for a more comfortable day of a busy woman and a mini bag.
