The swimwear edit

With all these unusual super hot days in Northern Europe, my summer lasts longer than expected and I feel almost obliged to write this handy post about swimwear. As much as we love summer and the beach, it is still a very stressful subject for every girl who wants to look flawless at the beach. So if you are a little curvy as I am, or if you see yourself too curvy (as I do 😀 ), this article is for you!

The main idea with swimsuit is to stress on the most convenient part of your body, and draw the attention off your problem zones. If you don’t have any, or if you feel confident enough to not bother- then you are my hero, and you can skip the text and go directly to the pictures! Whatever your body type is, you are beautiful enough to enjoy a day on the beach without stressing about your size or shape!

The plunge cut one piece

If you’ve got boobs, then all your problems are solved. Wear a plunged cut one piece and you will not have to worry at all about your curvy bottom.
Because, trust me, no one will ever notice it, unless you are Kim’s cousin. And if the latter is the case, you don’t need any guidelines :D.

Shape your waist!

If your waist is not the most defined one, but you still do not have a lot of abdominal fat, then choose a waist-cut one piece. It will shape your body and visually cut some inches around your waist. Choose a sharp cut (say triangular) rather than a rounded one, the latter will add some volume.

Two pieces, high waisted

One piece is good, but two are even better! For long lazy days of lying on the beach with a book, I always choose a two piece swimwear with high waisted briefs, as it covers enough to make me feel comfortable, but also protects me from uneven tanning. Be careful though and do not cover too much of your hips because this will make you look even bigger. Try to choose a higher cut bottom. Also, avoid any kind of volume creating add-ons (frills, gatherings, ruffles) on your briefs.

  1. High waisted bikini’s are a great style for people of all sizes and shapes I think! The high waisted bikini was the first type of bikini that ever came around so if it was the style to set off this whole saga with bikinis, than it must be a great style. It allows for you to show some skin while still being comfortable and not feeling self conscious while at the beach or chilling by the pool. It also accentuates your waist which is another thing I’m always looking for in swimsuits! I think plunging necklines can be so so flattering and they are a style that is classic yet slightly statement at the same tim 😉 Great edit Corina!
