The room
Perfectly positioned in the Miguel Bombarda district, the most artistic area of Porto, Mercador Guesthouse is a beautifully restored 19th century building. Built as a tribute to the portuguese “Golden Age of Discoveries”, this hotel keeps the historic value of the time through its décor and furnishings. The rooms were given names of old Portuguese seaports of the colonial era and are individually decorated in the style of each specific area and using historical artefacts from the place.
Bonus: If you are like me and wanna take everything out of your trips, you’ll fall in love with the comfortable bed at the end of the day!
Breakfast
The stylish Mercador Guesthouse is a boutique hotel features a beautiful relaxing garden outside, where guests can enjoy breakfast in the Portuguese sun. By the way, breakfast is amazing at this hotel. You can also serve it in the beautifully decorated breakfast room. You’ll have everything you need for a recharging start of the morning, and an extremely helpful lady who makes and serves the meal.
What’s around
The location could not have been better. The bohemian area of Porto, where it is situated, is simply charming. The most stylish restaurants and coffee shops are in walkable distance.
So take my advice now and thank me later: when in Porto, make sure to check in at Mercador Guesthouse!
It looks so lovely!!
